Citizenship by registration for investors (Citizenship Act s.9(3)) is a residence route in Mauritius (Citizenship by investment). Statute allows citizenship for an investor with ≥USD 500,000 invested in Mauritius and 2 yrs continuous residence; discretionary (Home Affairs), newspaper notices. Rarely if ever granted recently. The 2018 USD 1m 'passport' CBI plan was never enacted – no real CBI exists.
