EU/EFTA free movement – employed or self-employed is a residence route in Switzerland (Livre circulação UE / EFTA). Employment contract ≥1 yr (B, 5 yrs) or <1 yr (L); self-employed must show effective, viable business (AHV registration, business plan, accounts). No quotas for EU/EFTA. Family of any nationality may join. Gov fees ~CHF 400 (family of 3).

There is no minimum stay to keep the permit. Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after 5 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 10 years.
