Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP) is a residence route in Malta (Investitori / golden visa). Admin fee €60k + contribution €37k + €2k NGO donation + €500 card/person; buy property ≥ €375k or rent ≥ €14k/yr (5 yrs min); capital ≥ €500k (€150k financial) or €650k (€75k financial); +€7.5k per extra adult dependant.

Arrive intending to reside (home taken, not temporary purpose) → resident from arrival

Resident non-dom: foreign income taxed only if remitted, foreign gains exempt; GRP/MRP minimum-tax regimes

Residence certificate: CfR TRC; GRP holders need ≤183 days in any other country

Your previous country applies its own residence tests separately. If both countries treat you as resident, the applicable tax treaty may resolve treaty residence.

Requirements at a glance

The minimum qualifying investment is about CHF 34'800. There is no minimum stay to keep the permit. Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after subito years. Citizenship can be possible after about 7 years.
