Residence Status (Certificate of Residence) is a residence route in British Virgin Islands (Muu). 10 consecutive years of ordinary residence, ≤90 days abroad per year, good character, integration; Immigration Board review and Cabinet decision (quotas, points system planned). US$250 application fee + status fee set on approval. Belonger Status after further ~10 yrs.

Requirements at a glance

You must spend about 275 days a year in the country to keep it. Permanent residence: after 10 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 20 years.

How holders are taxed

No income or capital-gains tax; payroll tax on local work.
