Work Permit is a residence route in British Virgin Islands (Empleo). Employer-sponsored, up to 12 months, via Dept of Labour & Workforce Development; application fee US$50 + processing US$150 + annual permit fee by category; executive fast track for salaries ≥US$100k. Dependants on entry permits.
Requirements at a glance
Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after 10 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 20 years.
How holders are taxed
No income or capital-gains tax; payroll tax (~8% employee share above exemption) and social security on local pay.
