Residence permit for skilled workers is a residence route in Norway (Employment). Full-time job requiring degree/vocational qualification; pay per collective agreement or, without one, ≥NOK 545,400 (bachelor) / 624,700 (master) from 1 May 2026. Fee ≈NOK 6,300–8,000 main applicant (approx).
Requirements at a glance
You need an annual income of about CHF 43'630. Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after 3 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 8 years.
How holders are taxed
Worldwide income; PAYE 25% flat scheme for some foreign workers (income cap, max 5 yrs); wealth tax ~1.0–1.1%.
