Residence Permit – Retired Non-Citizen is a residence route in Mauritius (Retirement). Age ≥50; transfer USD 2,000/month or USD 24,000/yr to a local bank; may invest but not be employed/salaried. Spouse, parents, children on same term. Permit fee USD 1,000 + USD 50 application fee (since Dec 2025). PRP (20 yrs) after 5 yrs if ≥USD 200,000 transferred.

You need an annual income of about CHF 19'200. There is no minimum stay to keep the permit. Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after 5 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 7 years.
