CARICOM Skills Certificate
CARICOM Skills Certificate is a residence route in Guyana (EU / EFTA-Freizügigkeit). CSME free movement: qualifying CARICOM nationals get indefinite stay and work without permit.
What does “CARICOM national” mean?
A citizen of a Caribbean Community member state. Simply living in a Caribbean country, or holding a residence permit there, does not make you a CARICOM national.
For the Skills Certificate route, you must qualify in an approved skills category, such as a university graduate, nurse, teacher, artist or skilled trade worker. The receiving country must recognise your certificate.
Trinidad and Tobago’s guidance lists these participating states: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
A Skills Certificate supports eligible work; it does not automatically grant citizenship or permanent residence. Confirm the receiving country’s requirements before applying.

Spouse and children can usually be included. Citizenship can be possible after about 7 years.
