Temporary Residence as Investor is a residence route in Costa Rica (المستثمر / التأشيرة الذهبية). US$200,000 (Law 8764 art. 87) in registered real estate, shares, securities or productive project; Law 9996 reduced amount (US$150k) and import/tax perks expired 14 Jul 2026 for new filings - DGME has not formally confirmed. Spouse/children included. Gov fees ~US$400/person.

Requirements at a glance

The minimum qualifying investment is about CHF 160'000. You must spend about 1 days a year in the country to keep it. Spouse and children can usually be included. Permanent residence: after 3 years. Citizenship can be possible after about 7 years.
